Euro 2028 Itinerary: One Week of Matches in England, Scotland and Ireland
This seven-night route uses published Euro 2028 fixture dates to connect a Liverpool group match on 11 June, Glasgow on 13 June and Dublin on 16 June. It gives each city breathing room and makes the Scotland-to-Ireland flight a travel day; the teams, kickoff times and ticket results remain unconfirmed.
1. Quick facts
Dates
10–17 June 2028; seven nights across three cities
Potential matches
Liverpool 11 June, Glasgow 13 June, Dublin 16 June
Main transfers
Liverpool to Glasgow by rail; Glasgow to Dublin by flight
Ticket status
UEFA sale expected after the December 2027 final draw
This is a venue-date itinerary, not an offer of three match tickets or a promise that any particular team will play. Check the final draw, kickoff times, ticket terms, rail timetable and flight schedule before committing. A public ballot may give your group fewer matches than requested.

2. Why this route works on the fixture calendar
📍 Three venues in a logical direction
Liverpool’s Everton Stadium has a group match on 11 June, Glasgow’s Hampden Park on 13 June and Dublin Arena on 16 June. Start in northwest England, take the train north, then fly west. Each match is followed by either a night in the same city or a buffer day, instead of a post-match sprint through a station. The Republic of Ireland leg crosses the sea and needs its own airport plan.
🗓️ Seven nights, not seven nonstop transfers
Stay Liverpool 10–12 June, Glasgow 12–15 June and Dublin 15–17 June: two, three and two nights respectively. That totals seven nights. The 12 June transfer gives Glasgow an unhurried arrival before its 13 June fixture; 15 June is a flight and check-in day before Dublin’s 16 June game. Travelers with extra leave can extend Dublin through the 19 June match, but that is a separate ticket application.
⚽ The team question remains open
UEFA’s schedule labels these fixtures D3 vs D4 in Liverpool, F1 vs F2 at Hampden and E1 vs E3 in Dublin. Those labels are draw slots, not known national teams. Scotland and Ireland are not guaranteed to qualify or appear in these particular games; the host group-head positions are conditional. Treat this as a three-city football holiday first, then adjust only after the final draw.
🎟️ Ticket applications determine the final version
Regular ticket prices are not yet public. UEFA plans a ballot for general public sales after the final tournament draw expected December 2027, with face-value official resale. If you secure only Liverpool and Dublin, you can keep Glasgow for its museums, pubs and football atmosphere, or cancel that refundable leg. Write those decision points into the shared plan before buying transport.
Put the venue, ticket application holder, hotel cancellation deadline and matchday meeting point in one shared plan. A confirmed stadium date still does not confirm your team or tickets.
3. Days 1–3: arrive Liverpool and travel to Glasgow
🧳 10 June: settle into Liverpool
Arrive via Liverpool Lime Street or the airport and check in near Lime Street, Castle Street or the waterfront. Walk Royal Albert Dock and choose a dinner everyone can reach without taxis. Verify the exact Everton Stadium approach when event guidance is released; its new home is at Bramley Moore Dock, not Anfield. Get every traveler’s ticket and accessibility needs into the plan before matchday.
🏟️ 11 June: Liverpool group fixture
Keep the morning free for the waterfront, then eat early and head toward the stadium with an event-specific route. UEFA lists D3 vs D4 here on this date, but the kickoff and gate procedures can change the best departure time. Avoid purchasing a late train to Glasgow on match night; crowds leaving a 50,000-seat venue can make nominal city travel times meaningless. Sleep in Liverpool again.
🚆 12 June: rail north to Glasgow
Take a daytime rail journey from Liverpool to Glasgow, checking the real connection and seat reservation after tickets become available. Some itineraries require a change, so do not assume a direct train on your chosen departure. Check into a hotel near Glasgow Central or Merchant City, spend the afternoon at a museum or the riverfront, and keep the evening flexible. That buffer protects the next day’s game from rail disruption.
🏴 13 June: Hampden Park
UEFA schedules F1 vs F2 at Hampden. ScotRail ordinarily serves Mount Florida and Kings Park from Glasgow Central and warns that event queues and return arrangements vary. Follow the specific gate and station route once issued, particularly if your group separates. Eat before heading south and pick a central rendezvous point for after the game; do not build a tight restaurant reservation around an unknown final whistle.
4. Days 4–8: Glasgow, then Dublin
🎨 14 June: a real rest day
Use the free day for Kelvingrove, the West End or a slower neighborhood walk. If the group wants another match, Liverpool has a 14 June fixture and Cardiff one too, but adding either would break the relaxed itinerary and require another ticket and major transfer. Keep the day in Glasgow unless the entire group votes to change the route.
✈️ 15 June: fly Glasgow to Dublin
Check flight times and airport transfer cost together, then leave a buffer for bag drop and security. Do not label this a train journey: getting between Scotland and the Republic of Ireland by surface travel requires a ferry plus additional ground legs. Arrive Dublin in daylight if possible and stay near Grand Canal Dock, Ballsbridge or the city centre according to live room prices. Separate euro spending from the pounds used in Britain.
🍀 16 June: Dublin Arena fixture
UEFA lists E1 vs E3 at Dublin Arena. Lansdowne Road DART is the nearest stadium stop from the city centre; the final event route and gate assignment should control the last walk. Let the morning be a city stroll rather than stacking paid attractions before a possibly early kickoff. After the match, have a clear meeting point outside the immediate station queue and a flexible dinner plan.
🛫 17 June: departure or extension
Check out and travel to Dublin Airport with enough time for a busy summer departure. If everyone wants a longer holiday, Dublin has further group games on 19 and 21 June. That extension requires new room nights and separate match applications. Friends who depart from different airports can settle shared bills the evening before, not at the check-in desk.
5. Hotels and transit: what to book first
🏨 Liverpool: centre beats a vague stadium radius
Lime Street and the central waterfront give easy arrival, restaurants and attractions. Hotels next to older Liverpool football landmarks may be unhelpful for Everton Stadium at Bramley Moore Dock. Compare a two-night room total, twin-bed availability and cancellation terms. Keep the stadium transfer in the booking note; the final 2028 matchday access plan may change road or walking routes.
🚉 Glasgow: prioritize the rail arrival
A hotel near Glasgow Central or Merchant City reduces luggage handling after the Liverpool train and gives access to the Hampden suburban rail lines. The West End is a pleasant alternative for a museum-focused group, but adds a cross-city leg on matchday. Check the event crowd route and whether accessibility needs change which station is recommended.
🚈 Dublin: compare DART access and nightly cost
Ballsbridge is close to the ground, Grand Canal Dock offers DART and offices-turned-hotels nearby, while central Dublin has wider dining choice. Lansdowne Road is the stadium station. A room outside the core may look cheaper until late taxis and an airport trip are added. Compare the full two-night euro price, cancellation rules and whether breakfast is included.
🛂 Entry and currency checklist
The UK and Republic of Ireland are separate jurisdictions, so each traveler should verify entry conditions for their citizenship and residence on current official sites. British lodging and trains are in pounds; Dublin costs are in euros. Check mobile roaming, card fees and baggage rules when comparing the Glasgow–Dublin flight; do not make one person carry the whole group’s booking documents.
6. Seven-night budget and fallback plan
💷 Working cost per person
For twin-share rooms, reserve £500–£900 equivalent for seven nights; £80–£180 for the Liverpool–Glasgow rail plus Glasgow–Dublin flight; £65–£140 for airports and local transport; £210–£350 for food; and £90–£170 contingency. Total: £945–£1,740 equivalent before arrival/departure flights and match tickets. Dublin charges euros; this pound equivalent is a planning comparison, not a locked exchange rate or a live 2028 quote.
🎟️ Keep a ticket line marked unknown
Three successful applications could materially change the final spend, and the cheapest category may be oversubscribed. UEFA has not yet announced regular ticket prices. Decide a per-game ceiling for each traveler, track who wants which fixture and keep the hotel cancellation deadlines later than the ticket decision where possible. Do not buy a purported guaranteed bundle from an unauthorized seller.
🔄 What if the ballot fails?
Keep the cities only if the trip is worthwhile as a holiday without stadium entry. Museums, waterfronts and pub screenings may make a good alternative, but 2028 fan zones are not confirmed and must not be presented as a guaranteed free ticket substitute. If one city no longer works, use the cancellation window to shorten the route instead of paying for unused nights.
👥 Fair group splitting
Collect only the shared hotel deposits and transport each person explicitly approved. Food and optional attractions stay individual. If someone drops out, the room-price change should be calculated from the actual room contract before charging the others. Record each confirmation number, payment due date and refund rule in one place so three-city logistics do not turn into three separate group chats.
