ATHX Lisbon 2027: Complete Event and Travel Guide to FIL

ATHX Lisbon is at FIL in Parque das Nações, where a hotel near Oriente can simplify the airport and competition journeys while leaving the historic center as a separate, easy-to-plan sightseeing outing.

1. ATHX Lisbon 2027: dates, venue and entry prices

Dates

Saturday 26–Sunday 27 June 2027

Venue

Feira Internacional de Lisboa, FIL

Address

Rua do Bojador, Parque das Nações, 1998-010 Lisbon

Displayed entry

€150 individual; €275 per pair before checkout extras

This June 2027 event is separate from the November 2026 ATHX Finals. Use the FIL/Parque das Nações address rather than a different Lisbon congress venue. The public 08:00–18:00 heat window is not a personal check-in time, and the final athlete briefing should identify the hall and entrance.

2. Choose the event day and entry before the flights

The official Lisbon page lists two days, with individual and pairs formats and ATHX, Pro and Lite categories advertised. Select the actual available division, day and heat at checkout. Do not assume a two-day listing means every entrant competes twice or can choose a day after booking travel. Friday arrival and Monday departure preserve both competition days and allow a separate city outing. A shorter stay can work when confirmed entry and flight times fit, but a Sunday competitor should not rely on a guessed finish to make an airport departure.

🎟️ An equal pair share is €137.50

The displayed €275 team price is split between two athletes before extras, compared with €150 for individual entry. Give registration one owner, check both names and keep the confirmation available to the partner. Read current change and withdrawal conditions before treating a place as freely transferable.

🏋️ Read the 2027 workouts

ATHX publishes season-specific strength, endurance and MetCon X requirements. Use the format and division you are entering, with the relevant movement standards and permitted kit. The trip schedule should leave time for the actual briefing and arrival instructions rather than borrowing assumptions from the 2026 Finals or another event.

👀 Supporters can plan a different daytime balance

Check spectator access separately from athlete registration. Friends may want to watch part of the event, spend time around the river or visit the city center. Agree one reunion point and a flexible meal afterward so competitors are not expected to coordinate a sightseeing group from the event floor.

3. Where to stay: Parque das Nações or central Lisbon

For an event-first stay, compare ibis Lisboa Parque das Nações with Tivoli Oriente Lisboa Hotel. Both are named options in the modern riverside district, but their routes to FIL and Oriente differ. The ibis address is Rua do Mar Vermelho, while Tivoli Oriente sits by the transport-hub area on Avenida D. João II. A central base around Baixa or another well-connected neighborhood can suit a longer holiday, with an added metro journey to FIL. Decide how many city-center evenings the group actually wants before paying more for a famous address.

🏨 ibis Lisboa Parque das Nações

Use the hotel as a practical neighborhood shortlist and map the walk to the ATHX gate once published. Compare separate beds, breakfast hours and the full charge for the actual dates. Being in the FIL district is useful, but it does not promise an event shuttle, an early athlete breakfast or an entrance at the closest corner of the grounds.

🛏️ Tivoli Oriente Lisboa Hotel

This can suit travelers who value proximity to Oriente for airport, metro and rail connections. Compare the room category, bed arrangement and final bill with the ibis. A station-side base can simplify different arrival times, while the venue walk should still be planned separately rather than assumed to end at the station exit.

🚇 Baixa or central districts for a wider holiday

A central hotel gives friends more historic-city time on the doorstep but adds a connection toward the Red Line and FIL. Check the route from the actual hotel, including hills or stairs with luggage. A low nightly price in a difficult location can be outweighed by repeated taxis or a stressful early departure.

4. Lisbon Airport to Oriente: a useful same-line connection

LIS is Humberto Delgado Airport. Aeroporto and Oriente are both on the Red Line, so a Parque das Nações stay can have a straightforward rail-based arrival when the service is running. The journey still includes leaving the terminal, buying or validating the right fare and walking from the station to the hotel. If the flight uses Terminal 2, follow the airport’s current transfer arrangements rather than assuming the metro entrance is beside every airline’s check-in area. A shared taxi or booked ride is another comparison when bags, arrival time or accessibility make rail inconvenient.

🚇 Choose the correct Red Line direction

From Aeroporto, travel toward São Sebastião and leave at Oriente for the transport hub. Do not stay on simply because the train continues toward central Lisbon if the hotel is beside FIL. Use current service information and the hotel’s exact address to select the best exit and final walk.

🎫 Different payment methods have different fares

As checked on 18 October 2026, Metro lists €1.90 for a Carris/Metro ticket and €1.92 for a bank-card metro journey. A Carris/Metro 24-hour ticket is €7.25. These are current references, not guaranteed June 2027 prices; compare the product’s coverage and any card cost rather than assuming every transport mode is included.

🚕 Sharing a car is a door-to-door choice

Use authorized airport taxis or a clearly identified booked pickup, with the hotel and luggage specified. A short advertised airport-to-district driving time is not a guaranteed terminal-to-room duration. Friends on different flights can arrive independently and meet at the hotel instead of waiting for a joint ride that no longer saves time.

5. Getting into FIL: Oriente, the final walk and the hall

FIL’s own visitor information identifies Oriente as the useful train, metro and bus connection, with the exhibition grounds nearby in Parque das Nações. It does not make the station an athlete check-in point. Save the hall and entrance from the final ATHX instructions and map the last walk. If staying elsewhere in Lisbon, check the interchange to the Red Line, time to reach Oriente and the route onward to FIL. A neighborhood hotel can make walking the simplest race-morning plan, while metro is reserved for the airport and city outings.

📍 Use FIL, not another congress center

Lisbon has several event venues with similar-sounding English descriptions. The relevant address for this guide is Rua do Bojador in Parque das Nações. Share it with anyone arranging a car or meeting the group, then add the athlete hall and gate when published.

💳 Each metro traveler needs a valid journey

Follow Metro’s instructions for the chosen ticket or contactless method. Its guidance says a bank card can only be used by one person per journey, not a whole group. Keep the same payment medium available through the required validations rather than passing one phone or card around at the gate.

🅿️ A car is optional, not the default

FIL publishes underground parking information, but the current ATHX arrangements should settle access and any event charge. Include hotel parking and city driving needs in the comparison. A short stay built around Oriente and the Red Line often does not require renting a vehicle at all.

6. A three-night Lisbon itinerary: 25–28 June 2027

Friday arrival and Monday departure give friends two event days to work around and a free day for sightseeing. Saturday competitors can use Sunday for the city; Sunday competitors should keep Saturday comfortable and avoid a late evening before the event. Parque das Nações supports a relaxed waterfront plan without making the athlete tackle historic-city hills after competing. For a broader Lisbon outing, choose one compact neighborhood route and a meal rather than combining multiple hills, a tram queue and a distant attraction into a recovery-day checklist.

📆 Friday: local check-in and a simple evening

Save the hall information, choose breakfast and prepare kit before bed. A short riverfront walk can orient the group. If staying near Oriente, a local dinner avoids another metro journey after a late flight; friends keen to explore the center can make that an independent option.

🏋️ Race day: allow time around the booked heat

The event, check-in, changing, eating and travel back are separate parts of the day. Keep the shared dinner comfortably after the latest competitor rather than predicting an exact finish. Supporters can choose a café, waterfront stroll or their own local attraction around the sessions they plan to attend.

🏙️ Free day: waterfront or one historic-city route

A Parque das Nações walk and the Oceanário can make a local day. Alternatively choose Baixa and nearby streets, with a suitable metro connection and a realistic amount of walking. Sintra or Cascais is a separate longer excursion and should be an extension, not something forced into a tight airport day.

7. Food, the Oceanário and a low-stress celebration

D’Bacalhau in Parque das Nações is a named restaurant for a local Portuguese meal, with the official tourism listing placing it on Rua da Pimenta 43/45. Its cod-focused menu is a reason to check the group’s preferences and alternatives before booking, not an instruction that everyone must order the same dish. For a free-day activity, Oceanário de Lisboa offers a nearby indoor option. The current official site advertises tickets from €25.50, with price differences by product or visit window; that is not a guaranteed 2027 rate or an all-inclusive ticket to every local attraction.

🍽️ D’Bacalhau as a venue-area dinner

Check the actual menu, group booking conditions and dietary choices. A meal in the same district can be easier after competing than crossing Lisbon to a famous restaurant. Agree the likely spend and any deposit before one person commits the group, and keep personal drinks outside an equal food split if preferences differ.

🐠 Book the Oceanário around the event, not through it

Use the official dated ticket product and opening information. A relaxed visit may suit supporters or the free day, but do not reserve a fixed entry that clashes with an athlete’s check-in or recovery. Optional attraction costs belong to the people choosing them rather than every friend traveling to ATHX.

🥣 Make breakfast independent when needed

Confirm the hotel’s opening time and what is actually included in the room rate. Arrange a familiar alternative beforehand if the athlete leaves earlier. A leisurely brunch for other friends can happen separately, with a simple meetup later rather than a compulsory shared start.

8. A three-night Lisbon budget and shared payment plan

For individual entry and two people sharing a room, allow €515–865 per person before flights or intercity rail. The table is a planning model, not a quote for June 2027. Hotel figures include an allowance for applicable accommodation taxes; replace them with the actual room total and any separately payable charge. Moderate food, airport/local transport, an optional attraction and contingency complete the model. A solo room, premium river-view property, repeated taxis or extra nights will need their own additions.

Per-person planning estimates; excludes travel to the destination.
Cost itemAllowance
Individual event entry€150
Three-night hotel share, including tax allowance€165–315
Meals€90–165
Airport and local transport€20–45
Optional attraction€30–60
Contingency and checkout-fee reserve€60–130
Total before destination travel€515–865

🛏️ Hotel share: €165–315 for three nights

This assumes a final room total of roughly €110–210 per night split between two friends. Compare bed configuration, breakfast and cancellation terms consistently. Check any refundable card authorization separately so the booking owner understands the funds needed at check-in.

🧮 Pairs and supporters change the entry cost

An equal share of the €275 pair is €137.50, lowering the individual model by €12.50 before extras. A supporter replaces the athlete fee with the actual spectator price. Separate flights, drinks and different sightseeing choices remain personal rather than inflating the shared weekend balance.

📱 Keep fixed plans and optional activities separate

Use FlowTrip to vote on venue-area versus central hotel options with complete prices and journeys shown. Store entry confirmations, arrival details, the hall gate and one shared dinner together. Record booking owners and reimbursements, and let friends choose their own optional city outings without reopening the whole itinerary.
