FIFA World Cup 2030 Morocco Itinerary: Tangier, Rabat and Casablanca in 10 Nights

A Morocco World Cup trip is easier to organize around Tangier, Rabat and Casablanca than around a daily checklist of six cities: the northern rail corridor gives friends three workable bases, while each stadium still needs its own match-day transfer.

1. Quick facts and the first decision

Sample route

Tangier 3 nights → Rabat 3 nights → Casablanca 4 nights

Travel style

Ten nights, three hotel bases, two intercity rail moves

Current rail spine

Al Boraq: Tanger Ville, Kenitra, Rabat Agdal and Casa Voyageurs

Main stadium distinction

Grand Stade Hassan II is a Benslimane project, outside central Casablanca

This is an adaptable travel itinerary, not an announced match schedule. The host countries are confirmed; specific teams, kickoff times, public 2030 ticket prices and tournament transfer arrangements are not supplied by the sources reviewed on 14 October 2026.

2. Choose the route direction before you choose the hotel

Start in Tangier and finish in Casablanca if the flight prices and eventual fixtures cooperate. The reverse route works equally well, so there is little value in locking the direction years ahead. ONCF identifies the existing Al Boraq stations as Tanger Ville, Kenitra, Rabat Agdal and Casa Voyageurs; build the plan around those actual stations rather than the assumption that a train stops beside every stadium. A room near a station reduces suitcase transfers, but a room in a medina may be better for evenings. Compare both journeys before selecting the cheaper address.

🚆 Rail days need their own space

Allocate a daytime transfer on day 4 and day 7. Check out, reach the station, travel, leave luggage and check in before adding any activity. Even a fast intercity train does not make a same-day stadium arrival risk-free, particularly if tickets have entry windows or your friends have different seats.

✈️ Use the airport that suits the last base

For a Casablanca departure, Mohammed V is the airport to search, with ONCF airport rail information published by the airport. Tangier and Rabat have separate airports and airline networks. Compare the whole journey, including bags and the cost of getting everyone back to the departure city.

🧭 Shorten rather than squeeze

For seven nights, choose Rabat and Casablanca, or Tangier and Rabat. Keep Marrakech for a deliberate extension if its matches become your priority. A desert excursion, a Marrakech stop and three northern bases cannot all be low-stress additions to a short football week.

3. Days 1–3: Tangier, with one day kept open for football

Spend three nights in Tangier and avoid a paid match on your arrival day. A useful first afternoon is a short waterfront walk and an easy dinner close to the hotel. Put the medina, Grand Socco and Kasbah on the next non-match day; Morocco’s tourist board highlights the old-town lanes and elevated Kasbah, which make a compact sightseeing block without a long excursion. Your third day stays flexible for an actual match or a relaxed city day. These are suggested activities, not a prediction of what FIFA will schedule.

🏨 Station base: ibis or Hilton

ibis Tanger City Center and Hilton Tangier City Center are named options around the rail-station area. Compare twin-room availability, cancellation terms and breakfast rather than assuming every friend will share a double bed. This base is useful for the train onward; the old town still needs a separate walk or ride.

🏟️ The stadium is a separate journey

Grand Stade de Tanger is not the Kasbah or the rail station. Save the actual ticket venue, gate and organizer transport advice when announced. Reserve generous travel and exit time, and do not promise a late train back to another city merely because regular trains run during the day.

🍽️ Keep the first evening uncomplicated

Choose a restaurant close to the accommodation, agree a meeting address and let late arrivals join when ready. On the sightseeing day, leave time to compare menus and eat without a rigid booking chain. Friends who want a guided medina visit can opt in while others take a slower waterfront afternoon.

4. Days 4–6: Rabat, choosing Agdal or the historic center

Take the train to Rabat Agdal on day 4 and use the afternoon for settling in. Spend the following non-match day around the Kasbah of the Udayas, medina and Hassan Tower area, with a long lunch or indoor break rather than an all-day walk in summer heat. Day 6 remains the football or spare day. Rabat Agdal station and the central Rabat Ville area are different arrival points: a hotel described as central is not automatically beside the Al Boraq platform. Make the final hotel choice from the actual map, not a booking-site neighborhood label.

🛏️ Agdal is the practical rail option

ibis Rabat Agdal is at the Rabat Agdal station area, giving a clear starting point for arrival and departure. It suits groups who value predictable transfers. If you prefer a medina riad, compare luggage access, stairs, room layout, air conditioning and the exact taxi drop-off before committing.

🏟️ Moulay Abdellah needs its own route

Do not confuse the stadium complex with a central sightseeing stop. A train ticket into Rabat solves the intercity leg; it does not solve the last leg to the match. Record the final shuttle, taxi or public-transport arrangement and the return pickup point when tournament instructions exist.

🌿 Build a recovery afternoon

A slow Kasbah walk and café break is a better buffer than a compulsory day trip between matches. Keep one dinner optional so that friends arriving on different flights or holding different games can reconnect. Put the exact restaurant address in the group itinerary rather than “meet in the old town.”

5. Days 7–10: Casablanca and the Benslimane distinction

Move to Casa Voyageurs on day 7. For the next three full days, choose one city sightseeing block, leave room for ticketed football and protect the last evening from a demanding excursion if the group flies out next morning. SONARGES places the planned Grand Stade Hassan II complex in Benslimane, between Casablanca and Rabat. That makes “a Casablanca hotel” an incomplete match-day plan. The final transport service, security perimeter and journey time will determine which base is convenient; do not advertise a guaranteed train-to-gate connection before it is published.

🚉 Casa Voyageurs for travel simplicity

ibis Casa-Voyageurs is opposite the rail station and is a sensible shortlist for station-focused arrivals. Compare it with a central-city hotel if restaurants and evening walks matter more. The trade-off is time in taxis or local transport, not simply a lower nightly room price.

🕌 One useful sightseeing day

Combine the Hassan II Mosque area and waterfront with an unhurried city meal. A mosque visit requires checking the current visitor program, admission and dress expectations; an outside waterfront walk is a different activity. Avoid planning a tightly timed guided visit on the same afternoon as a football ticket.

🚐 Buy the transfer only when it is real

For a Benslimane match, use the tournament’s eventual official transport or a properly documented operator. Check pickup address, return departure rule, capacity and whether the price is per person or per vehicle. A shared van can be practical, but a vague “stadium transfer included” is not enough to pay a deposit.

6. When to replace a city with Marrakech, Fès or Agadir

The ten-night northern route is a recommendation for easy movement, not a ranking of Morocco’s football cities. If your actual ticket is in Marrakech, Fès or Agadir, rebuild the route around that destination. At present, those places do not all sit on the same Al Boraq service as Tangier, Rabat and Casablanca. Infrastructure planned for 2030 is also different from a train timetable you can buy today. Give a southern or inland stop enough nights to justify its transfer, and remove another base rather than simply adding another suitcase day.

🔄 Marrakech: substitute, then extend

A Marrakech ticket can justify replacing Tangier with several Marrakech nights and retaining Casablanca as an airport connection. Look at the actual ONCF service and arrival station, or a flight if useful. Do not sell a same-day journey as a universal solution for an evening kickoff and return.

📍 Fès: make it a real base

Fès is an inland branch, so include it because a game or a longer cultural visit matters. A medina property may need a walk from vehicle access; ask about bag assistance and meeting points. Give the group one full non-transfer day rather than only sleeping there between journeys.

🌊 Agadir: count the travel leg

For an Agadir match, compare flight and road options when the schedule is available. Do not assume the northern high-speed rail reaches the ground. The beach can make a pleasant longer stay, but it does not eliminate airport time, luggage charges or a separate stadium transfer.

7. What this Morocco itinerary could cost

Use Moroccan dirhams for the working budget so the group can compare local quotes without repeatedly guessing an exchange rate. For ten nights with two people sharing, a planning range of MAD 900–1,800 per room per night means MAD 4,500–9,000 per person. Eleven days of food at MAD 250–450 adds MAD 2,750–4,950. Add MAD 500–1,000 for intercity travel, MAD 700–1,400 for local and stadium transfers, and MAD 1,000–1,500 contingency. The illustrative subtotal is MAD 9,450–17,850 per person before flights, match tickets, accommodation taxes, insurance and paid sightseeing. These are reserves, not 2030 offers.

ContingencyMAD 1,000–1,500

🧮 A six-friend room calculation

Three twin rooms at MAD 1,200 a night for ten nights cost MAD 36,000, or MAD 6,000 each before tax. One private room changes that split. Ask the group whether the private-room guest pays the extra room cost before deposits are taken.

💳 Separate quoted costs from reserves

Keep a column for hotel and transfer quotes, one for estimated food, and one for unknown match tickets. ONCF’s current fares can illustrate how train pricing works, but a promotional fare in 2026 is not a guaranteed 2030 tournament fare. Convert to euros only at a stated exchange rate when comparing totals.

🎟️ Tickets remain an extra decision

Agree a maximum acceptable ticket price including fees and the number of matches each person wants. A travel itinerary does not entitle the group to seats, and tickets may have identity or transfer conditions. Buy through FIFA’s eventual authorized channels and keep the hotel cancellation deadline visible.

8. The final group checklist before anything becomes non-refundable

At this stage, a useful plan is one that can change safely. Set the route, room preferences and budget ceiling now, then attach actual matches when tickets and allocations exist. For every booking, write down who owns it, who is traveling, what has been paid and the last cancellation date. Put passport and entry checks on each person’s task list; nationality and residency can change the requirements. Separate personal purchases from common spending, and keep a small buffer for a delayed arrival, changed transfer or unexpected night.

📱 Save the offline essentials

Download hotel addresses, tickets when issued, rail details and the group contact list. Keep an offline map to the hotel and an agreed reunion point outside the crowd. If a data plan fails, the plan should still work without someone finding an old message in a chat.

🧳 Pack for city transfers

A manageable suitcase, comfortable shoes and a small day bag make the three-base route easier. Carry required medication and travel documents in hand luggage. Check the actual stadium bag restrictions before leaving the hotel; hotel luggage storage is often more useful than bringing everything to a match.

🗳️ Keep optional activities optional

Put a sightseeing choice to a vote and set a deadline, then leave downtime. Shared football trips work better when the whole group agrees the core bookings while individuals can skip a museum, spend less on dinner or join a different excursion without changing everyone’s schedule.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best Morocco itinerary for the 2030 World Cup?

For a ten-night city-first trip, Tangier for three nights, Rabat for three and Casablanca for four makes a practical rail-based starting plan. Change the route to fit actual tickets.

Does Al Boraq serve every Moroccan World Cup stadium?

No. Its current published stations are Tanger Ville, Kenitra, Rabat Agdal and Casa Voyageurs. Stadium access requires a separate local journey.

Is Grand Stade Hassan II in central Casablanca?

No. SONARGES identifies its project location as Benslimane, between Casablanca and Rabat. Final tournament transfers must be checked separately.

Can I book a match-by-match Morocco route now?

This guide does not supply a confirmed fixture list or 2030 ticket prices. Keep reservations refundable until the match geography and ticket terms are known.
